For Craig and Damon Foster the most exciting thing is that the Bushmen community themselves have responded so positively to the Great Dance and other hunter-gatherer societies from around the world have shown great interest and enthusiasm when they have watched the film. Young people are becoming interested in their culture after watching and perhaps it has struck this chord because the Bushmen themselves had such a strong hand in the making of the film. Ultimately it is their film. Mieta Grawie said "The film showed me something that made my heart sore and it touched me deeply. I remembered how difficult it was for my parents to bring me up living off the land." Baptiste Salvador said "The film makes us feel really San, and that we have never lost our culture and our language and our tradition. And I feel proud because I am a San and a hunter. If a San loses his hunting rights, it is like putting him in a camp like cattle." Isak Kruiper said "The children are very young and they will remember the film. when they are older, they will remember what they saw." "Today the Bushmen have been influenced by western culture. They have lost a bit of their pride. I believe it is very important that tonight some of the pride will come back to them." Young man (name unknown) said "I have never seen anything like this, as I grew up in a town. Now that I am in the Kalahari, I feel like a Bushman. I call myself a Bushman. I do not deny that I am a Bushman." It is also very exciting that the Missoula International Wildlife Film Festival honoured this film as this gives the Bushman culture a place and a purpose in the global context.
